The Ministry of Company Affairs (MCA), Govt of India, is going live with its flagship e-governance project ? MCA21. This project is set to completely change the way companies and individuals interact with the Ministry. This project will make it possible for Company Directors, Professionals, Financial Institutions and other Authorized Signatories to do e-filing with the MCA, using a secure mode of communication. Over a short period of time, the MCA envisages completely doing away with all paper-based interactions and moving completely to the online medium.
One of the pre-requisites for e-filing requires every individual to acquire a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) from a Licensed Certifying Authority (CA), licensed by the Govt of India under the Information Technology Act (IT Act), 2000.
