How do i install the Digital signature
in my Computer? |

Ans : Let us check up your
computer configuration.
Minimum Configuration Required:
A. P-III, 450 MHZ, 128MB Ram, Operating
System - Windows 2000 / Windows XP
-Professional
B. Internet Explorer Version 6.0 with 128
bit cipher strength.

How shall i check the above configuration
in my machine?
A: Open Internet Explorer
> Help > About Internet Explorer
Here you can check the version of your Internet
Explorer.

configuration, then what shall I do?
A: You can upgrade your internet
explorer version 6.0 by using the SAFEEXIM
CD provided to you

How to Install digital signature?
A: 1) Insert CD in CD drive.
2) If the CD auto runs please skip the into
and close the presentation. (ALT + F4)
3) Go to My computer>Safe Exim CD>
Right click on the CD icon and Explore.

complete the installation by clicking on
”Next”. |

How do I use my digital signature
to submit an application on the DGFT website?

On Clicking the Print application
Button on DGFT Home page nothing is appearing?
| Ans : This is because there
is some kind of “POP Up Blocker”
installed in your machine. This can be in
the form of “Yahoo tool bar”,
“MSN toolbar”, “Google
Toolbar”, “IE Port Toolbar”
or any other pop up blocker separately installed
in your computer. Please identify these
and uninstall them from your computer from
start>settings>control panel>Add/Remove
programs |

On clicking on Digital Certificate
Based access, the name of the digital certificate
applicant is not visible.
ANS4 Follow these steps-
1) Open Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet
Options>Security>custom level
You are facing this as your Internet settings
are not allowing you to download the CAB
file. Please change your Internet Explorer's
Security Settings to default as shown below. |

Download the following file and run it
on your computer

After I click on Digital Login
the “Client Authentication Service”
box opens and I am able to see the certificate
applicant’s name, however when I click on
OK it says “Page cannot be displayed”
ANS5 Check the following things
first.
Go to Start>Programs>eToken>eToken
Properties . It should ideally look something
like this |

| If it looks like this then the eToken
is not getting detected and please remove
it and insert once again in the USB port,
or else try changing the USB Port, try restarting
the machine. |

After I click on Digital Login
I get a message saying “ This page requires
a SSL Client Certificate”
ANS6: First of all while logging
into the digital application if the website
asks for any updating from Safescrypt Ltd
then you should click “Yes”
to it. If the website has not asked for
this then download the following file on
your computer and run the file and restart
your computer. Now again go for the application

When I submit my Ecomm application
to Jt DGFT Mumbai and sign it digitally the process
gets held up and no new window opens.
| This is because there is some

On a Windows XP, when I click on
DEPB/DFRC/DES no screen or Blank Page appears.
ANS8: This is because your
Internet Explorer does not have a JAVA plugin
as all DGFT applications require Java applets.
Download the latest “Java Virtual
Machine” from the following machine.
The file size is close to 15 MB. Run the
setup file that has been downloaded and
restart your computer and go once again
for the application.

At the end of the application when
I click on “Sign and Submit” I get
an error as follows
“VB SCRIPT ERROR
SIGNING SUBSYSTEM NOT INSTALLED”
ANS9: First of all you would
be asked by the website to download and
run “Safescrypt Form Signer from Safescrypt
Ltd”. You need to click “Yes”
to it. If you have done “No”
or you have not been asked then follow these
steps:
If your operating system is Windows2000
of Windows XP, download and run the following
file. Restart your computer and go for the
application once again

When I click on Digital Login,
I get an error “No Valid Certificate is
present on this Computer”
ANS10: First check the date
of your computer. Go to Start>Settings>Control
Panel>Date and Time> Change the date
to the current date and time> Apply the
settings and click OK.
Now close your Internet Explorer and try
once again.
If the error still persists, download the
following file, run the file on your computer
and restart your computer. Now go for the
application again.

error. This has nothing to do with Digital
Signature. Please try after some time. |

3. My iKey2000 Token Manager does
not see the token on my Windows 2000 machine.
It says "No Readers Detected". What
can I try?
| Ans For Windows 2000 machines
only! Please open up a DOS window and type
in: "scardsvr reinstall" and hit
Enter. Please re-boot and try Token Manager
again. |

What happens when you have inserted
the ikey before installing the iKey software?
iKey installation Error
 |
You should insert the ikey
only when it is prompted by the system.
The ikey driver has to be installed seperately.
The following procedure must be done to
resolve this error message
1. Uninstall the Rainbow ikey software.
2. Restart the system
3. Go to the url given below, http://safeexim.safescrypt.com/IKEYDRVR.EXE
and download the iKey driver and then install
the driver alone.
4. Insert the cd(SafeDoxx-SafeExim) into
cd-drive, then navigate to iKey 2000 directory.
5. Run the setup.exe.
6. Finally click OK to finish the installation.
NOTE: At the time of restarting the PC do
not plugin the ikey into the port

What is the cause and solution
when the following error "token server not
responding" occurs?
 |
Cause: The Token server service
is not running.
Solution: This needs to be started in some
systems where we get this error. This service
can be started by following the procedure
given below:
1. Click Start-->Programs-->Administrative
Tools-->Services
2. Click DataKey's Token Service.
3. Right Click on that and select Start.
|

When you try to run the “eToken
Properties” application after installing
the eToken drivers, a "Failed to load etoken.dll"
or "Cannot initialize eToken.dll" errror
may occur.
 |
To check the Service:
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, then Services.
2. Locate the Smart card service.
3. Verify that the Service is Started. Ideally,
the startup type should be set to Automatic.
4. Locate eToken Notification Service.
5. Verify that the Service is Started.
After verifying that both services are set
to Started, check to see if the eToken Properties
application still shows an error with the
etoken.dll. If it does, there may be a permissions
error. If either service fails to start
or the problem persists, contact your IT
Help Desk or Computer Support person for
assistance
Q16: Does digital signature look like a
physical signature?
ANS: No. It is algorithm. It is program.
It is not scanned image of your signature.
It is
identity method.

in single computer?
| Technically it’s possible
to install as much as you can. |

If my hard disk gets crashed/I
change the hard disk/ I reinstall my operating
system (Windows)/I want to transfer the Digital
Signature to another Computer, is there any back
up facility?
| Ans18 First of all the digital
certificate is on the USB Token and not
on your computer. Hence there is no need
for any backup. Now you have to install
the software for Digital Signature once
again. See the Installation Guide given
above. |

What happens if I lose my Digital
Certificate / USB Token?
| Ans19: First you will have
to send an email to info@techopt.com, and
we will revoke your certificate. You shall
have to apply for fresh digital signature. |
